Hodgepodge of Stuff

So it’s been quite awhile since I’ve written one of these up!

To all 3 of my readers, I’d like to wish you all a very happy, safe & prosperous 2014! Where to start…where to start?

First off, I’m a father now! Ethan came into the world on November 7, 2013…about a week after my last posting, so to say my life has been busy would be an incredible understatement. Everyone is fine & Ethan is now 2 months old as of yesterday, January 7th. He’s growing so quickly as he was quite a big boy from the start, weighing in at 9 pounds, 3 ounces. TNA Wrestling / WWE Comparisons & Thoughts

So I was watching TNA Impact the other night and realized that when comparing the two companies, lately I’ve been noticing that I’ve been enjoying TNA much more than Raw. The first & I believe, the most obvious reason for this is their roster. They just have talent that in my opinion are allowed to be what they want to be and portray themselves as they would like to be portrayed. I think these guys probably have a lot more say in their characters than most guys do in WWE, where they’re given a direction, look, lines & the whole nine yards and aren’t allowed to stray from what has been written for them.

Also, in the case of a number of WWE talents that when they got themselves over either by accident or on purpose, “creative” decides that because that’s not where they had envisioned this talent that they won’t just go with it like they have in the past (see: Steve Austin). Take a guy like Zack Ryder as an example… Continue reading “TNA Wrestling / WWE Comparisons & Thoughts”

WWE Summer Slam Thoughts

So WWE had their annual summer pay per view last night in LA. I watched the show from my local Buffalo Wild Wings in Rockaway. I did have to work last night, so it was after 8:30 by the time I got to BWW. Unfortunately, I missed the Bray Wyatt vs. Kane Inferno Match…from what I read, it sounded like it went prettymuch how I expected it to. Rowan & Harper finally made their way into the ring once they figured a way around the flames. And apparently they dragged a beaten Kane off to apparently be brainwashed to join the Wyatt Family.

I’m not gonna give a match by match recap or even thoughts on every match, rather just comment on what I really want to comment on. So with that in mind… Continue reading “WWE Summer Slam Thoughts”

Randy Orton’s run in with a fan in South Africa

So apparently while WWE was on tour the other day in South Africa, some fan took it upon himself to run into the ring after the mach had ended and low-blow Randy Orton from behind while he was standing on the turnbuckle, celebrating his win.

Ok, first off…WWE makes trips to South Africa what? Like once a year?? So this dude has some pent up animosity against Orton and takes it out on him when they come to the country? Who does this? This guy has to be mentally disturbed/have some sort of mental disability. So if this is the case, who is with him? I don’t know many people who go to wrestling shows alone. And why didn’t someone that he was with attempt to stop him from hopping the guardrail?

Backlash 2004 Fallout

Wow, I’m actually caring enough to do up one of these things! It’s amazing, it really is! Anyway, after last night’s Backlash PPV, I’ve got a whole new feeling about Randy Orton, as I’m sure most of you do too. Last night’s match with Foley was huge for this guy’s career. All I can say is that Foley’s at it again…putting over the younger, up-and-coming talent. He did it for Triple H, he’s done it for the Rock & now he’s doing it for Orton in the one way that he can do it the best…by taking a beating & taking it like a champ.

Last night’s match was unbelievable, the bumps that Orton took, the re-emergence of the barbed wire board, Foley’s threatening of Continue reading “Backlash 2004 Fallout”
