Don’t worry…I’m still here! Royal Rumble Thoughts

So it’s been awhile, huh?

Yeah…life’s had me pretty busy the last few months, plus the fact that I haven’t really found a lot of inspiration to write for some time as well. However, that changed after watching the Royal Rumble Pay Per View Premium Live Event & because of it, I’m here!

So let’s get down to it. WWE hasn’t impressed me in quite some time and as I’ve argued with a couple friends lately, every time I decide to tune in and give them another shot, it’s the same crap that pushed me away in the first place: Brock Lesnar is the unbeatable monster who does what he wants, beats everyone else to the point that nobody else is interesting because the main event has been so dominated by him & Roman Reigns for the last couple of years that it seems that nobody else matters in the eyes of the writers, so everything else is just background noise that exists in it’s own bubble until someone else starts to get over, only to be smacked in the face and pushed back down the card again.

AEW & Why I’m All Out

So last night, All Elite Wrestling put on their Pay Per View event titled All Out in front of a sold out crowd at the 11,000+ seat Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, IL. Leading up to this event, they boasted that the event had sold out in record time. As I’ve stated in earlier writings here, I’m not a huge fan of many of the wrestlers of AEW, but I figured I’d give the promotion another shot. I watched the two free shows they produced for streaming on Bleacher Report Live (Fyter Fest & Fight For The Fallen), which I declined to write about simply because I felt that the promotion was still getting it’s legs under them and I didn’t want to be super critical and come off in the same way that Jim Cornette often can. But now that they’ve had a few — let’s call them “dress rehearsals”, I would expect a lot of the kinks to be worked out and production should be up to snuff for last night’s show. This clearly wasn’t the case.

All Elite Wrestling & Why Fans Should “Wait & See”

So a lot has been said, rumors are flying every which way and everyone pretending to be a “wrestling journalist” is writing stories regardless of how legit and truthful they are about people asking for their releases and speculating on people jumping to the new upstart wrestling company being thrown together by the Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes. And to be honest, I’m actually getting sick of seeing the damn letters AEW already — which stands for All Elite Wrestling — that hasn’t even had it’s debut event yet!

Monday Night Raw Thoughts

Where to start, where to start indeed. Let me just say one thing before I start with this quick thoughts on this show, and that’s this…I don’t know if I feel stupider for watching this or smarter because everyone on & involved in writing this show aside from maybe Cody Rhodes is a complete dufus, so maybe I feel smarter than the rest of them?!?

So I’m really just gonna touch on the main storyline here involving the McMahon-Helmsley regime, their corporate champion, their enforcers, Daniel Bryan & the rest of the WWE roster.  First up is of course, Continue reading “Monday Night Raw Thoughts”

WWE Summer Slam Thoughts

So WWE had their annual summer pay per view last night in LA. I watched the show from my local Buffalo Wild Wings in Rockaway. I did have to work last night, so it was after 8:30 by the time I got to BWW. Unfortunately, I missed the Bray Wyatt vs. Kane Inferno Match…from what I read, it sounded like it went prettymuch how I expected it to. Rowan & Harper finally made their way into the ring once they figured a way around the flames. And apparently they dragged a beaten Kane off to apparently be brainwashed to join the Wyatt Family.

I’m not gonna give a match by match recap or even thoughts on every match, rather just comment on what I really want to comment on. So with that in mind… Continue reading “WWE Summer Slam Thoughts”
