AEW & Why I’m All Out

So last night, All Elite Wrestling put on their Pay Per View event titled All Out in front of a sold out crowd at the 11,000+ seat Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, IL. Leading up to this event, they boasted that the event had sold out in record time. As I’ve stated in earlier writings here, I’m not a huge fan of many of the wrestlers of AEW, but I figured I’d give the promotion another shot. I watched the two free shows they produced for streaming on Bleacher Report Live (Fyter Fest & Fight For The Fallen), which I declined to write about simply because I felt that the promotion was still getting it’s legs under them and I didn’t want to be super critical and come off in the same way that Jim Cornette often can. But now that they’ve had a few — let’s call them “dress rehearsals”, I would expect a lot of the kinks to be worked out and production should be up to snuff for last night’s show. This clearly wasn’t the case.

All Elite Wrestling & Why Fans Should “Wait & See”

So a lot has been said, rumors are flying every which way and everyone pretending to be a “wrestling journalist” is writing stories regardless of how legit and truthful they are about people asking for their releases and speculating on people jumping to the new upstart wrestling company being thrown together by the Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes. And to be honest, I’m actually getting sick of seeing the damn letters AEW already — which stands for All Elite Wrestling — that hasn’t even had it’s debut event yet!

WrestleMania 32: The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same

So let’s get right into it…I wrote in my last blog a few of my issues with the card going into this past Sunday’s WrestleMania 32 and those issues I had weren’t addressed by WWE in any way shape or form. In fact, I believe they were magnified, highlighted and double-underlined. It’s like the creative team just threw up their arms and said “Whatever you want, Vince!” — which I’m pretty sure isn’t far off from what actually happened in the creative meeting going into the show. So let’s break it down here and I’ll explain why I really hated the outcomes of about 95% of this show.

Fist off, I want to let it be known that for as much as I didn’t like the outcomes of the matches…the matches themselves were mostly quite good and the guys and girls wrestling in the matches did the best they could with what they were given. Problem is, they weren’t given a whole heck of a lot to work with.

First on my list here starts with the ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Title. I was actually stuck at work while this match went down, so I figured I’d pick up WrestleMania live and go back and watch whatever I missed the next day. Problem is…on the Network, the “Preshow” is two hours long and includes Continue reading “WrestleMania 32: The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same”

Marking Out w/Marc and Dee 2/02/16

“The Affordable Princess” Dee and I are back, along with “The Professor” Scott Tison to talk about some unfortunate news regarding Blackjack Windham and Bret Hart, to talk a little about the episode of Monday Night Raw that aired on 2/01/16 and to continue talking about some of our favorite mark out moments, along with a slew of other topics. As always, if you have any questions, requests or ideas for the show…please inbox me at: marc@marcstwocents.com and I’ll probably even read your email on the air. Thanks for listening!

Backlash 2004 Fallout

Wow, I’m actually caring enough to do up one of these things! It’s amazing, it really is! Anyway, after last night’s Backlash PPV, I’ve got a whole new feeling about Randy Orton, as I’m sure most of you do too. Last night’s match with Foley was huge for this guy’s career. All I can say is that Foley’s at it again…putting over the younger, up-and-coming talent. He did it for Triple H, he’s done it for the Rock & now he’s doing it for Orton in the one way that he can do it the best…by taking a beating & taking it like a champ.

Last night’s match was unbelievable, the bumps that Orton took, the re-emergence of the barbed wire board, Foley’s threatening of Continue reading “Backlash 2004 Fallout”

No Way Out 2002 Fallout

Well, now that the 2002 No Way Out PPV is behind us, let’s take a look at where we stand…

Finally, I did something right with main events….I actually got 2 out of 3 right, which is a major step-up for me. Yay for that, but on a more serious note, let’s see where we really stand.

First matter of business is that Chris Jericho seems positioned to be going to WrestleMania X-8 to defend the Unified Title, which is a good thing. The problem is that now the #1 Contenders spot has been given to Continue reading “No Way Out 2002 Fallout”

Royal Rumble 2002 Fallout

Well, now that the 2002 Royal Rumble is behind us, let’s take a look at where we stand…

Triple H is the winner of this year’s Royal Rumble & appears to be headed to the main event at WrestleMania, which kinda leaves the question still unanswered as to what Stone Cold Steve Austin will be doing for WrestleMania. HHH is quickly on his way to a fifth Federation Championship and with Jericho retaining the coveted title, I’m sure we’re in for a fun ride to WrestleMania.

Other bits of interest regarding the Rumble match itself, it seems that both Continue reading “Royal Rumble 2002 Fallout”
