Anticipating Survivor Series Weekend

So last night, while recording Revival Radio, we kind of ran out of time and didn’t get to talk much about this weekend’s Survivor Series Pay Per View event. So I figured maybe I’d just do a writeup. This weekend’s shows should provide quite a lot of great matches for us fans to watch on the WWE Network! The NXT group starts the weekend off on Saturday night with the latest TakeOver event in which a gimmick match we haven’t seen in 20 years when SAnitY, The Authors of Pain with Roderick Strong & The Undisputed Era face off inside two rings surrounded by a cage in War Games.

Along with that awesome attraction, they’re giving us an NXT Title match between defending champion, Drew McIntyre & Andrade “Cien” Almas and will also determine a new NXT Womens Champion when Nikki Cross, Ember Moon, Peyton Royce & Mae Young Classic Tournament winner, Kairi Sane face off for the title that Asuka vacated upon leaving for Monday Night Raw. Other matches include: Kassius Ohno vs. Lars Sullivan and Aleister Black vs. Velveteen Dream. A pretty stacked card that also includes for the live audience, a match for the WWE UK Title when Pete Dunne defends his title against Johnny Gargano. For us not attending, that match will air on NXT next Wednesday and it’s sure to be another great match!

But on to my original purpose for writing today…this year’s Survivor Series card is seriously stacked! I mean let’s break this thing down and just marvel at the show that we’re about to witness on Sunday night, shall we? Continue reading “Anticipating Survivor Series Weekend” →

Goodness, Gracious, (WWE) Great Balls of Fire!

So here we are, another 2 weeks removed from the last WWE Pay Per View…this time, it’s Money In The Bank, and I honestly had to sit here a minute to try to remember which one it was! Normally, trying to remember the name of the last Pay Per View is (and should be) a fairly simple thing to do since something notable usually happens on these shows…except for the most part these days, nothing notable really happens on these shows anymore. They’re just filler, and as I mentioned in a past writing here, it’s really hard to get psyched up for one of these shows every two weeks now. However, I stand corrected this week…if given the proper build with the right storytelling, one can get excited for a non-big 4 Pay Per View!

It’s PPV time again, but is it too soon?

So last weekend, I finished my review of the previous weekend’s festivities surrounding the Backlash Pay Per View. Now, looking ahead to this weekend, it’s Pay Per View time again for WWE as the Raw brand presents Extreme Rules. Now maybe it’s just me, but that’s an awful short amount of time between shows! And don’t get me wrong, I understand the “added value for Network subscribers” deal, but I never had a problem waiting a whole month for a Pay Per View to allow for a decent build to the show from a storyline perspective…but this is 2017, a time when WWE rushes through storylines and doesn’t permit anything to have a slow burn.
