The Face of WWE is…?

So for one reason or another, this morning I got to thinking about the current lineup for the upcoming WrestleMania show next month, and it occurred to me that WWE may have made a pretty sizable change recently!

Looking back through WWE history, that company/territory has traditionally been a babyface territory. Going all the way back to Bruno Sammartino, WWE has traditionally been a babyface-led territory. From Bruno, Pedro Morales, and Bob Backlund to Hulk Hogan, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels, Diesel, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock all the way forward to John Cena & Roman Reigns…until now.

WrestleMania 36…The Show That Probably Shouldn’t Have Been

So I promised a new piece reviewing this past weekend’s WrestleMania 36 & to be honest, I really have mixed feelings on the whole thing.

To start off, thinking logically about the whole ordeal with everything going on in the world today with everyone in quarantine and seemingly every form of live entertainment put on hold with the Coronavirus pandemic, it’s really hard for me to understand the “The Show Must Go On” train of thought considering the health of everyone involved in performing, recording, producing & distributing the two nights of WWE action. However, on the other hand, with all forms of live entertainment put on hold, people holed up in their homes, WWE has always prided themselves for “putting smiles on peoples’ faces” and in this time of “social distancing”, I also see the need for a show like this — to try to provide some sense of normalcy during a time that is anything but normal.

Anticipating Survivor Series Weekend

So last night, while recording Revival Radio, we kind of ran out of time and didn’t get to talk much about this weekend’s Survivor Series Pay Per View event. So I figured maybe I’d just do a writeup. This weekend’s shows should provide quite a lot of great matches for us fans to watch on the WWE Network! The NXT group starts the weekend off on Saturday night with the latest TakeOver event in which a gimmick match we haven’t seen in 20 years when SAnitY, The Authors of Pain with Roderick Strong & The Undisputed Era face off inside two rings surrounded by a cage in War Games.

Along with that awesome attraction, they’re giving us an NXT Title match between defending champion, Drew McIntyre & Andrade “Cien” Almas and will also determine a new NXT Womens Champion when Nikki Cross, Ember Moon, Peyton Royce & Mae Young Classic Tournament winner, Kairi Sane face off for the title that Asuka vacated upon leaving for Monday Night Raw. Other matches include: Kassius Ohno vs. Lars Sullivan and Aleister Black vs. Velveteen Dream. A pretty stacked card that also includes for the live audience, a match for the WWE UK Title when Pete Dunne defends his title against Johnny Gargano. For us not attending, that match will air on NXT next Wednesday and it’s sure to be another great match!

But on to my original purpose for writing today…this year’s Survivor Series card is seriously stacked! I mean let’s break this thing down and just marvel at the show that we’re about to witness on Sunday night, shall we? Continue reading “Anticipating Survivor Series Weekend”

Two posts in one week!

That’s right…you’re getting a double shot this week. After completing my viewing of Monday Night Raw, I came up with another reason to write another piece. This one, I promise won’t be so long-winded as the last one.

I wanted to talk a little about what happened with the WWE Divas’ Title on Monday…or rather over the last couple of years or so. So if this doesn’t interest you, I can completely understand. Continue reading “Two posts in one week!”

Hodgepodge of Stuff

So it’s been quite awhile since I’ve written one of these up!

To all 3 of my readers, I’d like to wish you all a very happy, safe & prosperous 2014! Where to start…where to start?

First off, I’m a father now! Ethan came into the world on November 7, 2013…about a week after my last posting, so to say my life has been busy would be an incredible understatement. Everyone is fine & Ethan is now 2 months old as of yesterday, January 7th. He’s growing so quickly as he was quite a big boy from the start, weighing in at 9 pounds, 3 ounces. WWE Summer Slam Thoughts

So WWE had their annual summer pay per view last night in LA. I watched the show from my local Buffalo Wild Wings in Rockaway. I did have to work last night, so it was after 8:30 by the time I got to BWW. Unfortunately, I missed the Bray Wyatt vs. Kane Inferno Match…from what I read, it sounded like it went prettymuch how I expected it to. Rowan & Harper finally made their way into the ring once they figured a way around the flames. And apparently they dragged a beaten Kane off to apparently be brainwashed to join the Wyatt Family.

I’m not gonna give a match by match recap or even thoughts on every match, rather just comment on what I really want to comment on. So with that in mind… Continue reading “WWE Summer Slam Thoughts”
