Podcasts…A Beginner’s Guide

So I was driving into work this morning, listening to podcasts and came up with another topic I needed to write about…as you can see from the title of this entry, I want to share some info about podcasts. I know not everyone listens to podcasts, so I’m here to help explain what they are, where to find them, how to subscribe to them, how to listen to them & which ones I deem a good listen. So let’s get started, shall we?

I. What is a podcast?

A podcast is like talk radio, except for it’s not actually on the “air waves” anywhere. The person(s) recording will sit down to record on their own and upload the recordings to the internet for distribution to various places to be downloaded by listeners like iTunes, Google Podcasts & other like distribution sites. If they’ve built up a decent listener base, they can take their podcast to various advertisers to line up deals with them in order to make money off of their show. A lot of podcasters tend to record more for the love of getting their voice out there to be heard more so than actually making income from the shows recorded.

Looking Back: WWF In Your House I

In watching this past week’s episode of NXT, we were informed by Triple H, Shawn Michaels & the Road Dogg that we were about to celebrate the 25ᵗʰ anniversary of the first WWF In Your House pay per view, so in it’s honor, the next TakeOver event would be named NXT TakeOver: In Your House! WrestleMania XII Retrospective

Ok, well here I am with my WrestleMania XII recap, for those who haven’t seen this show. BTW, I also did a WrestleMania X recap just the other day, so if you missed that, it’s right here. Well, on to the WrestleMania XII recap. Also, in case you’re curious, I’m doing this cuz I feel WrestleMania Sunday is as much a holiday as Superbowl Sunday. So on that note….on with the PPV.

This one’s live, on tape from the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California on March 31, 1996. Your hosts are Vince McMahon & Jerry “The King” Lawler. Continue reading “WrestleMania XII Retrospective”

WrestleMania X Retrospective

I’ve just finished watching my tape of WrestleMania X & have some comments I just felt I had to show with all of you, my lovely readers…

Where to start…well, let’s start with the beginning, the Bret & Owen Hart match. Don’t ask me about Little Richard doing America The Beautiful, cuz I gotz nothin to say about that…he’s not much better than Salt-N-Peppa the following year. What I wanted to emphasize here was that Owen beat Bret in a great wrestling match, something we really don’t see a whole lot anymore & I highly doubt we’ll see this year in the main event.
