Don’t worry…I’m still here! Royal Rumble Thoughts

So it’s been awhile, huh?

Yeah…life’s had me pretty busy the last few months, plus the fact that I haven’t really found a lot of inspiration to write for some time as well. However, that changed after watching the Royal Rumble Pay Per View Premium Live Event & because of it, I’m here!

So let’s get down to it. WWE hasn’t impressed me in quite some time and as I’ve argued with a couple friends lately, every time I decide to tune in and give them another shot, it’s the same crap that pushed me away in the first place: Brock Lesnar is the unbeatable monster who does what he wants, beats everyone else to the point that nobody else is interesting because the main event has been so dominated by him & Roman Reigns for the last couple of years that it seems that nobody else matters in the eyes of the writers, so everything else is just background noise that exists in it’s own bubble until someone else starts to get over, only to be smacked in the face and pushed back down the card again.

NXT TakeOver: Broolyn 4 and Summer Slam Weekend Thoughts

So I know last time I wrote, I had been a real downer about everything around the business of professional wrestling, wrestler deaths and the state of the current WWE main roster product. While very little of that has changed, I’d like to think that my outlook has a bit and I’m going to go into that a bit here.

Anticipating Survivor Series Weekend

So last night, while recording Revival Radio, we kind of ran out of time and didn’t get to talk much about this weekend’s Survivor Series Pay Per View event. So I figured maybe I’d just do a writeup. This weekend’s shows should provide quite a lot of great matches for us fans to watch on the WWE Network! The NXT group starts the weekend off on Saturday night with the latest TakeOver event in which a gimmick match we haven’t seen in 20 years when SAnitY, The Authors of Pain with Roderick Strong & The Undisputed Era face off inside two rings surrounded by a cage in War Games.

Along with that awesome attraction, they’re giving us an NXT Title match between defending champion, Drew McIntyre & Andrade “Cien” Almas and will also determine a new NXT Womens Champion when Nikki Cross, Ember Moon, Peyton Royce & Mae Young Classic Tournament winner, Kairi Sane face off for the title that Asuka vacated upon leaving for Monday Night Raw. Other matches include: Kassius Ohno vs. Lars Sullivan and Aleister Black vs. Velveteen Dream. A pretty stacked card that also includes for the live audience, a match for the WWE UK Title when Pete Dunne defends his title against Johnny Gargano. For us not attending, that match will air on NXT next Wednesday and it’s sure to be another great match!

But on to my original purpose for writing today…this year’s Survivor Series card is seriously stacked! I mean let’s break this thing down and just marvel at the show that we’re about to witness on Sunday night, shall we? Continue reading “Anticipating Survivor Series Weekend”
