For those of you who have known me for a good length of time, I’ve had a number of websites I’ve created and maintained over the years. The one that I had maintained probably for the longest period of time (aside from this one) would be b-d-p.net. I recently came across a lot of the content from that old site and decided to bring it back to life by posting it here. It can all be found under the category “B-D-P.net Archive” listed just to the right here. It’s all stuff I wrote between 2001-2004 (so far). I’ll continue to add more stuff as I find it.

Be warned, my perspectives from those days was quite a bit different than they are now. For example, I found a set of pay per view predictions where I called Jacqueline a waste of roster space and William Regal was not deserving of the Intercontinental Title. Clearly, not opinions I still have to this day, but I figure for what it’s worth…if you want a good laugh, go check out that stuff!

So last weekend, I finished my review of the previous weekend’s festivities surrounding the Backlash Pay Per View. Now, looking ahead to this weekend, it’s Pay Per View time again for WWE as the Raw brand presents Extreme Rules. Now maybe it’s just me, but that’s an awful short amount of time between shows! And don’t get me wrong, I understand the “added value for Network subscribers” deal, but I never had a problem waiting a whole month for a Pay Per View to allow for a decent build to the show from a storyline perspective…but this is 2017, a time when WWE rushes through storylines and doesn’t permit anything to have a slow burn.

Gone are the days when Austin wanted to fight McMahon in the ring and McMahon would always find a way to weasel out of the match or have someone else interfere on his behalf to push Austin off onto a separate path that Continue reading »

So I’m back to talk about the weekend that just commenced in which WWE aired new programming on the WWE Network for three nights in a row. First, they started off on Friday night with a show which in all honesty was recorded a couple weeks ago from their shows in Norwich, England and it featured talents from the UK Championship Tournament they held back in January along with some cruiserweights from 205 Live. Next up on Saturday night, NXT presented the latest in their TakeOver series of specials, NXT TakeOver: Chicago, which aired live from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. And finally, to cap off the weekend, the Smackdown crew presented the WWE Backlash Pay Per View. Continue reading »

Looking at that title makes what I’m about to do here feel like a bit of a daunting task, but I’ll do my best to share my favorite memories & thoughts on this historic career…of which I’ve witnessed almost all of and pay tribute to The Big Dog of the Yard in WWE. So here goes nothing…

So I was riding the bus into work this morning and grooving to songs from Kid Rock’s album Born Free and it occurred to me that this site is tagged as “My views on everything Marc-centric”, so if that’s the case…how is it that this site has existed now for 4 months shy of 4 years and I haven’t written anything about music and especially Kid Rock!?! So I figured I’d better get on that. Continue reading »

So the other day, I attended the NXT house show down in Asbury Park, NJ at the Asbury Park Convention Hall. It was my second year in a row seeing a wrestling show there and I’ve gotta say…there’s probably no other place around here I’d rather take in a show!

I’ve been a wrestling fan now for well over 20 years, and during that time, I’ve been to Pay Per View events, Monday Night Raw, Smackdown tapings and plenty of non-televised house show events. I’ve attended shows at large venues like Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center, NYC’s Madison Square Garden, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ, the Nassau County Veterans’ Memorial Coliseum and have also hit small venues like the Grand Ballroom at NYC’s Manhattan Center, the Rahway Rec Center, the 23rd Street Armory in Philadelphia, the VFW Hall in Manville, NJ, the American Legion Hall in Dunellen, NJ and most recently, the Asbury Park Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ. So WWE decided to begin to expand again. And I know what you’re thinking: I thought they were already a worldwide brand? To that, I’ll say yes, in a way they are. However, they are an American based wrestling promotion which tours the world. In all honesty, the UK fans only get to see their favorite WWE Superstars live maybe twice a year. So to that end, I believe WWE is looking to expand to run somewhat regularly in the United Kingdom (and probably other countries as well).

To achieve this, they have decided to create a new championship and run a 2-night tournament in the UK with some of the country’s top independent performers to crown a new champion who will continue to work in the UK and be spotlighted on a new featured series on the WWE Network. So it’s been awhile since I wrote one of these up and to say that a LOT has gone down in the wrestling world would be the understatement of the year. So I’ll do my best to organize my thoughts on everything prowrestling related.

First off, The Marking Out Podcast has been put on long-term and possibly permanent hiatus. The fact is that between recording, doing the post production and then sharing it across all the various social media groups and outlets I used to post it to, coupled with recording Yes and No Radio for PWInsiderElite.com, it just got to be too much with my long work days plus the commuting that something had to go.  Continue reading »

Danielle, Scott and I talk about this past weekend’s WWE action including a very good Money In The Bank Pay Per View, a good Monday Night Raw that followed it along with a Phenomenal Stone Cold Podcast with AJ Styles. Also, we talk about the most recent wellness policy violation and suspension for former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns. As always, if you have any questions, requests or ideas for the show…please inbox me at: marc@marcstwocents.com and I’ll probably even read your email on the air. Thanks for listening!
